There’s a real need.
And I have the product that fills that need.
The product is a yerba mate bombilla/straw.
But not your ordinary one.
I’ll even go as far to say that this is the BEST bombilla you’ll ever try. It’s the only one of its kind and I’ll show you what it is in a second.
First, let’s talk about this need and how it impacts you…
Your Secret Need
Chances are, you already have a few straws, or maybe you’re here to find your first one. Either way, I’m sure you all have similar needs when looking for the best yerba mate bombilla.
How do I know this?
Let’s test it now…
If I get your head shaking up and down in the next few sentences, we’re clearly on the same page and you want to stick around to the end. But if not, you won’t gain anything else from reading further.
Ready?
- You need a bombilla that can smoothly filter your yerba mate and chimarrão every time.
- You need a bombilla that can last you a lifetime.
- And you need a bombilla that looks eye-catching (instead of just some metal stick you suck on)
Does the above apply to you?
Then keep reading because there’s one more need – a secret need – that you have and may not know of…
Burned Lips
Think about the last time you prepared a gourd of yerba mate…
You boiled water, filled your gourd with yerba, and stuck your bombilla in. Once the water got hot, you filled the water hole inside your gourd and let it steep.
After a few minutes of waiting, you take a sip…
OUCH!
You burned your lips!
Not because of the tea, but because of the tip of your bombilla.
Drinking from a hot straw is like kissing a scorching piece of metal that just came out the fire. And now you’re forced to wait until it cools down, or take little baby sips to avoid getting burned again.
Regular yerba mate bombillas burn your lips
Now, you might think that you just used water that’s too hot.
But it’s actually because the steel of the bombilla stores and conducts heat to the point where it’s hotter than the mate itself! That’s why you probably have no problem holding the tea in your mouth, but jump out of your seat once you place your lips on the straw.
Sadly, out of all the things that can ruin your drinking experience, it sadly comes down to just the small tip of your bombilla.
Companies and long-time yerba mate drinkers have overlooked this for years. They simply fight through the pain and claim that if you can’t handle the heat, then you’re just a wimp and should keep your mouth shut.
But not anymore.
All in all, mate is supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable drink you can share with your friends and family. However, this is impossible when you (or them) are constantly sipping in pain.
Until now…

Not only will you be amazed at how comfortable this straw feels on your lips, but drinking mate will now turn into the comforting and cozy experience that you’ve always missed out on.
Gone are the low-quality, piping hot straws that nearly leave a blister on your lips.
You can now sip freely and relax as you finally get to taste the full robust flavors of your mate — absolutely pain-free!
The secret is in our food-grade, heat-resistant silicone cap…
Easily removable and tight fitting heat-resistant silicone cap
It covers just the mouthpiece, and matches the colorful orb on the straw for a minimalist and harmonious design.
Testing The Heat
When you order, first try it without the cap.
Prepare your mate like you normally would and take a sip. Feel how hot the straw is on your lips. In fact, try touching it with your hand. You’ll find that it might even be too hot to hold onto.
Now, slip on the cap and take a sip.
What you’ll find now is it doesn’t get hot at all! You’ll also notice how soft the silicone feels on your lips and teeth, instead of a solid steel banging on your front chompers.
Made of a sturdy high-quality 304 stainless steel for long durability
But why not just get a bamboo straw?
Sure, they don’t get hot. But bamboo bombillas are easy to break, sometimes have poor suction, and need extra care because it’s wood. While stainless steel bombillas on the other hand, last much longer and are easier to clean.
This is why most straws (like ours) are made out of this material in numerous styles.
With a spoon head featuring 1mm holes on both sides, this can easily filter both yerba mate and powdery chimarrão. As well as be used to scoop out the leaves from your gourd when finished. It also allows you to easily mold and shape your yerba for better filtration.

The bombilla with silicone cap is best for medium and large gourds. Which gourds offered here are medium and large?
Hi John!
Thanks for your question.
Our silicone-capped bombilla works great with our stainless steel gourd, our medium and large-sized calabash gourds, and some of our cuias like this one and this one.
Hope this helped!
If you have a particular gourd in mind, just let me know and I can clarify for you.
Cheers,
Darren
Hi, Are these mate bombilla made in the United States and if not then which country make them? Thanks!
Hi Colette!
Thanks for your comment.
They are manufactured in China but shipped by us from the United States.
Cheers,
Darren
hi! is the silicone cap removable? Is it simple to place it or to take it out? Thanks
Hi Fati,
Yes! The silicone cap is removable. To take it off, is simple. You just have to pull and wiggle it out. It fits tightly on the bombilla so it doesn’t move around when in use.
Cheers!
Darren
