- Traditional Uruguayan Yerba Mate: A powdery, fine-cut yerba with a rich, creamy taste and texture
-
Perfect Mountains Of Mate: Form picture-perfect mountains with lots of foam on each refill
- Strong Kick: Experience a stronger caffeine kick and long-lasting focus with each sip
- Popular Brand: Trusted across South America and enjoyed by professional footballers, Canarias is the go-to yerba for energy on the field
Tasting Notes
Expect a full-bodied flavor profile that's smooth, but rich. Canarias is a yerba mate with complex notes starting with earth, malt, and hay, leading into subtler hints of bread, roasted nuts, milk chocolate, and peanut butter. For the best flavor, we recommend brewing with a water temperature of around 155-170ºF (68-77ºC).
Who It’s For
Canarias is often a bit too intense for beginner palates, but some find it a lot more pleasant than other brands because of its smoothness. If you like a strong mate with a creamy mouthfeel, is long-lasting, and for a good caffeine boost, then Canarias may be for you.

Care / Maintenance
Mate Gourds
Before your first use, it's best to cure your mate gourd (if made of calabash or wood) to remove debris and reduce bitter tannins.
- Fill with hot water (170°F / 77 °C) and steep for 20 minutes.
- Pat dry with a paper towel.
- Dry gourd on its side in a well-ventilated spot (a fan works best).
Bombillas
New bombillas should be cleaned to remove any potential manufacturing residue.
- Boil in water with 1 tbsp baking soda for 10–15 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
Yerba Mate
Keep yerba mate in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. For green yerba, store in the fridge/freezer to preserve freshness and prevent degradation. An airtight container works best.
