"GRAAL" Brazilian Imbuia Wooden Cuia
Free US Shipping For Orders $60+
Description
A popular type of gourd used in Brazil made from 100% imbuia wood. It's carved into a similar hourglass shape as a traditional Brazilian cuia making it great for preparing chimarrão. Treated with a high-gloss lacquer finish, not only does this seal and protect the wood from everyday wear like scratches and moisture, but also makes its natural grain pop as you'll quickly notice once in hand. Heavy, thick-walled, and sturdy, this is a must-have in every chimarrão lover's collection. Large capacity
Curing is not necessary as it is already treated on the exterior and sanded smooth on the inside. Just give it a quick rinse in warm water and pat dry. (Because these are natural, handmade products, the size, shape, grain and color will vary from the pictures)
Dimensions (approx.): 4 x 4.8 in.

Before your first use, it's best to cure your mate gourd to remove debris and reduce bitter tannins.

- Pat dry with a paper towel.
- Rest gourd on its side in a well-ventilated spot (a fan works best).

New bombillas should be cleaned to remove potential manufacturing residue.
- Boil in water with 1 tbsp baking soda for 10–15 minutes.
