CBSe Miel Yerba Mate Review (HONEY Flavor)

As I’m writing this CBSe yerba mate review, I’m sipping on their honey-flavored mate right now. That way, everything I write below is based on my experience at this exact moment and will be as accurate as possible.

CBSe (honey) was one of the first mates ever I drank. And I’m super glad it was. Why?

Because it’s a sweetened mate.

Not very traditional, I know. But here’s the thing…

cbse

CBSe has established itself as a pioneer in the yerba mate industry. They specialize in flavored yerba mates, as well as blended ones (with different herbs).

So as different as their brand might be from your typical gourd of mate, their flavored ones are still something to try.

And I’ll explain why that is in the rest of this post, specifically with their honey (miel in Spanish) flavored mate.

Let’s get started…

Tastes Like Honey

cbse

Again, although flavored mates aren’t the traditional way to drink yerba mate, you can’t overlook how fantastic they taste.

And with this honey flavored one, you really do get a good hint of honey with each sip.

But what’s even better is it smells like it too!

Why’s that good?

Because as some of you might know, smell plays a big role in taste. And if you’re tasting (and smelling) sweet honey at the same time, you get the full flavor from all angles.

And that’s not all…

For you traditional mate drinkers, I’m sure you love the herby and earthy taste of yerba mate. And if so, I have good news for you…

This honey-flavored mate still holds that classic taste we all love.

The first sip gives you that little honey kick. But the aftertaste (and after drinking a few gourds), that fresh grassy, soil-like flavor follows up.

And as amazing as this yerba mate tastes, I do have one problem with it…

Lasts A Short Time

It’s not the shortest in the world, but the honey flavor is what disappears quickly.

When you take your first sip, you get blasted with its sweetness. But quickly dies down as you keep refilling your gourd.

However, like I said, this is only with the honey flavor.

The earthiness stands its ground throughout most of the time drinking it.

Whether that’s good or bad news, depends on how you like your mate.

Personally, I love the herbaceous taste. And if you do too, this isn’t such a big deal. However, I do wish the honey flavor lasted the whole time drinking.

But anyway, back to the good news…

Great For Beginners

There’s a lot of awesome beginner mates to try. Some being Cruz De Malta and Ximango. But I think flavored mates top them all.

And with CBSe, there are several reasons why…

First, being its taste. Apart from the obvious that it’s sweet, this mate is also free of the two types of tastes that scare away most beginners – extreme bitterness and smokiness.

CBSe yerba mate has a little bitterness to it, and almost zero smokiness. Making this perfect for someone who’s new to mate.

Second, it’s an Argentinian cut yerba mate. Why is this good for beginners?

cbse

An Argentinian yerba mate is composed of all three parts of the plant – stems, leaves, and dust. But with this mate in particular, it’s mostly leaves, a few stems, and little to no dust. This makes preparing it and getting a smooth sip of mate extremely easy.

So now that you know how this tastes, I’m sure you all want to know what the effects are…

Increases Focus And Energy

Like with all yerba mate, CBSe is no different (except for one thing). Although plenty of people do think a flavored mate is nothing like regular ones, that’s just not true…

In regard to taste, that’s obvious. But in regard to effects?

Flavored mate, like this honey one, is around 99% the same.

You still get increased focus and energy for hours and hours. As well as better creativity and concentration.

So what’s the remaining 1% difference?

I’ll tell you, but first, it’s good to know this…

Flavored mate does contain sugar. How much sugar? Precisely 1 gram (from the honey of course). But it also contains aspartame, an artificial sweetener. How much of that isn’t measurable.

However, I would NOT say it’s a huge amount since the sweetness dies down pretty quickly.

Now that you understand that, the 1% difference is a possible sugar rush or crash, which people know yerba mate not to cause.

And although I’ve never experienced a sugar rush or crash from flavored mate, I can imagine that if you’re drinking lots and lots of this stuff, it can be possible.

CBSe Miel Yerba Mate Review

cbse

Apart from the super small possibility of experiencing a crash, and short-living honey taste, CBSe yerba mate is still something I’d recommend to all yerba mate drinkers.

It’s not something I drink everyday (I love my traditional mate most).

But it’s great to have when you crave something sweet in the morning, and don’t want to stuff your face with sugar-packed foods.

Now I know some people will ask, Why not just buy honey and add it to your regular mate?

You can do that. But for the sake of convenience, and for the price you save from not having to buy extra honey, I’d much rather stick with this flavored mate.

Besides, if you do add honey yourself, you’re most likely going to add too much.

So to be on the safe side, getting yourself a pack of flavored honey mate is your best option. Leave the flavoring up to the experts and enjoy a nice gourd without having to worry!
